“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.”
– Matthew 5:14 (NIV)
Not every light is blinding. Some flicker gently, warm and quiet. Some glow like a nightlight, steady through the dark.
You don’t have to be loud to shine. Your kindness, your patience, your quiet faith—those are light. And they matter.
Jesus didn’t say be the brightest or be the loudest. He said, you are the light. Full stop.
Whether your light feels like a roaring flame or a flickering wick today, let it be seen. Even a soft glow can help someone find their way.
Reflection
What kind of “light” do you carry today?
Are you discounting your quiet acts of goodness?
Who might be comforted by your presence this week?
Prayer
God, thank You that my light doesn’t have to be big to matter. Use my presence, my care, my heart—even when it feels small. Let it shine gently in the places You’ve planted me. Amen.
